Last year, PlayStation 4 owners had the chance to experience Tripwire Interactive's games when Killing Floor 2 was ported over to the system. Today, John Gibson, President of Tripwire Interactive announced during the annual PlayStation Experience trade show.

Initially released on PC for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, Killing Floor: Incursion is the third installment in the Killing Floor series and the seventh title developed by American studio Tripwire Interactive. Unlike its predecessors, Killing Floor: Intrusion was explicitly designed for VR headsets and was built from scratch by the developer. Incursion features a story-driven single-player campaign as well as an additional endless mode. Whether you play solo or with a friend, you can travel through diverse environments, while fending off hordes of the undead.

Gibson also confirmed that the PlayStation VR port of the game would feature a brand-new never before seen level in Holdout mode. Holdout, an endless game mode where the goal is to survive as long as you can against a slew of enemies. Much like Call of Duty's Zombies mode, as the match progresses more powerful weapons appear, and more powerful mutated creatures emerge. On top of that, Killing Floor: Incursion also features leaderboards, which you can use for bragging rights to your friends as well as show the world how long you can survive.

Currently, Killing Floor: Incursion does not have an official release date. However, Tripwire is anticipating to launch the title onto the PlayStation 4 sometime in 2018.
