You may remember during my recent preview of Killzone: Mercenary the mention of a Valor system, this card system that bases rewards on playstyle and performance. Well, thanks to a new video, which you can view below, we've got more details into how heavily this system fits into the game, especially its multiplayer.

The video shows off studio Guerilla Cambridge, as the developers explain how the Valor system is a way to not only reward players during the single player component, but also the multiplayer component, even if they aren't connected online. This way, whenever a player does get to go online, they'd have the Valor rewards and their single player progress unlockables to make their multiplayer transition an easier one.

Also, death during multiplayer will have players leaving behind Valor cards, which also add rewards. Getting certain "hands" like a Full House or Flush will also give players bonus rewards, and killing players of higher rank will reward gamers better cards than killing beginner enemies.

Killzone: Mercenary is set to release on PS Vita September 4th in Europe and September 10th in North America. Closed beta multiplayer is currently live, while open beta multiplayer will be coming in late August. For more details on the Killzone series, check out all of our Killzone news.
