Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep Sells Over 400K In First Week

No one loves Kingdom Hearts like… “my girlfriend” does. *cough* It seems as the Japanese, though, have a fetish for the franchise like no other. Birth By Sleep, the series’ latest entry, has sold over 400,000 units in its first two days of sales, as per a report by Media Create. The prequel, which is only exclusive to the PSP, has claimed the best-performing handheld debut for the franchise so far, beating both Chain of Memories’ 200k sales and 358/2 Days’ 300k.

That’s only software sales, however. Birth by Sleep also had an accompanying limited edition PSP bundle as well. Knowing how the Japanese are about limited edition Square Enix stuff, we can sure expect an inflation in hardware sales sometime this week. Nothing beats the release of a great game with its own limited edition hardware.
