Kingdom Hearts is Getting a Tabletop Adaptation of the Classic Board Game Talisman
Kingdom Hearts is coming to fans in tabletop form later this year with an adaptation of the classic board game Talisman.
Earlier this year, fans of the Kingdom Hearts series finally got what they were wishing for with the long-awaited release of Kingdom Hearts 3, and while the game itself seems to have delivered what fans have been hoping for, more is to come in the form of a tabletop adaptation of an all-time great board game.
Tabletop game publisher USAopoly has announced that it is developing Talisman: Kingdom Hearts Edition, which will adapt the classic board game Talisman: The Magical Quest Game from Games Workshop, known for the Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 series.
Talisman: Kingdom Hearts Edition will take place across several different regions featured in the game’s Disney-inspired worlds (such as Neverland) and take players through a journey where they must acquire Strength and Magic in order to ward off the Heartless and prevent them from letting darkness overtake the world.
The game is playable between 2-6 players and will include various characters from the series, such as Sora, Kairi, Riku, King Mickey, Goofy, and others as characters “at the helm of an exciting and different way to play the tabletop classic,” according to USAopoly.
In addition to the game board, the game itself will also feature custom marbleized six-sided dice, tokens, and cards that bring players into “the beloved aspects and exploratory spirit of ‘The Magical Quest Game'” that Talisman has been known for, while also delivering a proper dosage of Disney nostalgia that Kingdom Hearts fans have come to expect from the series now for over 16 years.
Talisman: Kingdom Hearts Edition will be available in North America and Europe later this year.
