If you're looking forward to playing Kingdom Hearts: Dark Road on mobile, you'll have to understandably wait longer. The developers are struggling like everyone else with the current state of the world. In a new update published on May 19, the official Twitter account for Kingdom Hearts: Dark Road revealed the development of the game is taking longer than planned due to recent changes in work environment, with the current conditions we live in. While not explicitly stated, the Dark Road team at Square Enix is definitely having trouble with work from home conditions and being as efficient as usual. Square Enix as a whole stated so itself. All other Japanese studios are also affected.

The same message was also published at the same time on the Japanese twitter account for the game. In fact that's the one I first saw, and translated it before realizing an English version of the message should be available. Often happens to me.

You can read the first details on Dark Road here. Square Enix was recruiting for future Kingdom Hearts games in late 2019. Tetsuya Nomura also spoke on the future of the series.

Multiple Japanese seiyuu and artists shared homages to Axel's seiyuu Keiji Fujiwara, who regrettably passed away in April.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is available on PS4 and Xbox One. If you played the game, you can check out our story analysis and our review for the Remind DLC. All the series can also be experienced on Xbox. Though I personally doubt getting into the series right now and doing every single game is truly a good time investment. I personally wouldn't do it.
