Kingdom Hearts fans have been waiting to play the series' third main entry for over a decade now. Today, Square Enix revealed they won't need to wait too long to get their hands on it since Kingdom Hearts III will be playable at this year's E3.

In a tweet posted by the official Square Enix USA account, the company thanked all the attendees who were present at the Kingdom Hearts III premiere last week. This is the same event the game's director, Tetsuya Nomura, revealed that its released date is expected to be revealed "early next month." The interesting part comes in the latter half of the tweet where it states "fans will get their very first chance to play Kingdom Hearts III at Square Enix's E3 2018 booth."

This shouldn't be a gigantic surprise to anyone, given this is (hopefully) the last E3 before the game launches in the holidays. On top of that, we are now following the Kingdom Hearts 3 Premiere where the game was fully playable. But while some people are content in just assuming it would make an appearance, official confirmation never hurt.

It is still unknown which section of the game will be shown to fans at the show but there are quite a few options available as seen from the recently revealed screenshots of Sora and his Disney pals.

Kingdom Hearts III is expected to release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2018 -- though we still don't know the specific date. If you haven't yet grabbed your pre-order of the conclusion of Sora's story arc, make sure you grab it on Amazon.
