Back during PSX 2016, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced — to the surprise of many — Knack 2, a sequel to Knack, which launched alongside the PS4 back in 2013 to a rather lukewarm reception.
Then, on Monday night during its E3 2017 press conference pre-show, Sony announced that Knack 2 is only a few months away: ready to release on September 5th, on a day that will now be known as National Knack 2 day, aka a day of grand celebration.
Fast-forward a few days, and yesterday, Sony Interactive Entertainment did a live demo for the game at E3 that provided over 16 minutes of new gameplay footage.
Knack 2 is said to take place about a year after the original game, with a story that centers on the destruction of Knack’s home city, and how Knack and his friends fight back against the returning enemy of the Goblins.
The game notably boasts seamless co-op, over 20 unique moves to deploy in beat ’em up action, more platforming than the previous game, a variety of puzzles, and of course overall gameplay that is meant to appeal to not only adults, but to kids.
Knack 2 is set to release exclusively on PS4 for $39.99 USD on September 5th. Below, you can check out the plethora of new gameplay footage:
