In the Atelier 25th Anniversary livestream aired on Monday, publisher Koei Tecmo revealed the release date for the upcoming RPG Atelier Marie Remake: The Alchemist Of Salburg. First announced during the Japanese version of this month's Nintendo Direct, Atelier Marie Remake will be released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PS5, and PC via Steam on July 13 in Japan.

Since the broadcast of the livestream, the game's listing on the international Steam store has been updated to include a release date of July 12. Koei Tecmo has since confirmed that the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation versions of the game are set to launch internationally on this very same date.

Along with the announcement of the release date, the livestream also unveiled an all-new trailer showcasing gameplay footage, character interactions, and the remake's bespoke art style. Visually distinct from the latest entry in the Atelier franchise — the upcoming Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist Of The End & The Secret Key, releasing this March — Atelier Marie Remake features a chibi, toybox-like art style true to the spirit of the original Atelier Marie, first released by developer Gust for the PlayStation in 1997.

Given that the original Atelier Marie on the PlayStation and all its successive ports have remained Japan-only since launch, the worldwide release of the upcoming Atelier Marie Remake: The Alchemist Of Salburg marks the first time the game will officially be available in languages other than Japanese and outside of Japan. According to the official Atelier Marie Remake's Steam page, the game will support English, Chinese, and Korean language options at launch in addition to the original Japanese.

Along with these never-before-available language options, Atelier Marie Remake will offer a complete overhaul of the original PlayStation game, from brand new 3D sprites rendered specially for the remake, to an all-new mode of gameplay designed to appeal to casual players and Atelier series newcomers.

A digital deluxe edition of the game will also be available at launch, currently priced at 8,580 yen (approx. 64USD). This edition will include an extra "Another Look" costume set, the enhanced Plus version of the original PlayStation title, and a selection of music from developer Gust's decades' worth of video game soundtracks, all in addition to the full remake.
