It's been a while since Hideo Kojima was hinting at his new project vaguely through his Twitter posts, however, it seems that a well-known industry leaker has already seen some footage from the Japanese director's next game, which is apparently called Overdose.

After parting ways with Konami, Hideo Kojima worked on Death Stranding as his first-ever project set outside of the Metal Gear franchise. While the game was a great hit for PlayStation and PC, it seems like the Japanese director is not going to make a sequel for it, at least for now.

Tom Henderson, an industry insider who has been trustworthy with most of his leaks, recently claimed that Hideo Kojima is working on a horror game that appears to be called Overdose!

Overdose Is Apparently A Horror Experience Featuring Both First-Person and Third-Person Views

According to a report by Tom Henderson, he has received some initial footage from Kojima's next title, which reveals a female character wearing a blue dress, played by Margaret Qualley, the same actress who portrayed Mama in Death Stranding.

While it might sound like a spin-off or expansion for Death Stranding, the leaker insists that it looks more like a brand new IP as the name "Overdose" is being revealed at the end of the footage, followed by "A Hideo Kojima Game."

A few hours later, Tom Henderson shared another tweet, claiming that Kojima Productions has reached out to him requesting to remove his report.

Of course, this is all unconfirmed information and we suggest you take it with a grain of salt until we hear something official or at least we get more evidence on the leak.

However, if the leak turns out to be true, it would be interesting to see who will be Kojima Productions' partner for launching this new title. Previously, we heard some rumors pointing out a possible collaboration between Xbox Game Studios and Kojima Productions, but it's too soon to come to a conclusion about this.

Also, the timing of this leak could be a hint at the imminent announcement of Kojima Productions' next project either at Summer Game Fest or Xbox Showcase.
