Konami Officially Confirms Hideo Kojima’s Departure, Gives no Further Details
Yesterday Nikkei mentioned that Hideo Kojima had left Konami, but cited no sources or confirmation. Today Konami Japan’s public relations department confirmed to several Japanese websites that the creator of Metal Gear Solid’s contract has indeed expired on December 15th, and that he has officially left the company.
The notice can be found on Famitsu, 4Gamer, Game Spark, Inside Games, Game Watch and more.
Konami declined to answer to any further request for information from the media outlets mentioned above, and did not provide any detail on how the Metal Gear Solid series is going to continue.
That said, Kojima-san is now officially free.
