Gran Turismo World Series 2022 Showdown Nations Cup ended with a dramatic Grand Finals race as Kylian Drumont managed to win a double. Before heading to the grand final, which was set in the Trial Mountain Circuit, players of each region took part in their qualifying races. The three top finishers from each regional race directly qualified for the Grand Final, with the next 4 spots going to Repechage. Valerio Gallo was one of the big names that went into the Repechage along with Lucas Bonelli, but they both managed to finish top 3 in the Repechage race and qualified for the grand final.

Racing with Redbull X2019 cars in 30 laps of Trial Mountain Circuit, Jose Serrano started at the P1 position, but it took Igor Fraga only a few laps to take over the first spot. While Igor Fraga was almost 1 second quicker than his best chaser, Serrano, Carrazza, and Kokubun had a very close competition around the second and third spots in the initial laps of the race.

Despite an early penalty, Carrazza gradually kept climbing in the table, and when Fraga went into two back-to-back pit stops, Carrazza managed to get past Serrano and occupy the top of the table. However, after coming out of his first pit stop, Carrazza collided with the other racers in a very crowded corner of the circuit, which sent him directly to the bottom of the table. Later in the race, Igor Fraga took a 2-second penalty as a result of his collision with Carrazza.

From Lap 10, Jose Serrano who was the top racer on the circuit and he avoided going into a pit stop until lap 16, when he replaced his Medium tires with Hard ones.

All this time in the race, Kylian Drumont was gradually making his way to the top and he eventually managed put enough distance between himself and his closest chaser, Fraga, that even a pit stop couldn't help Fraga to take the first spot back from Drumont.

Thanks to his fresher tiers, Kylian Durmont managed to win the race for Nations Cup at the end, though Igor Fraga was really close to taking back the first spot at the final few laps. Kylian Drumont also managed to win the Manufacturer's Cup on Saturday.

Igor Fraga finished in 2nd spot, followed by Kokubun, who finished 3rd.

The next round of Manufacturer's Cup and Nations Cup will go live in September and October this year, respectively.
