Lady Layton Gets Worldwide Release Date for Smartphones and Overseas Name Changed to Layton’s Mystery Journey

Level-5 announced that Lady Layton: The Millionaire Ariadone’s Conspiracy will release world worldwide and renamed overseas to Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and The Millionaire’s Conspiracy on July 20 for iOS and Android, the same day as the Japanese 3DS release date shown in yesterday’s Japanese Nintendo Direct.

Although a 3DS release is planned overseas, the localized version of the game for the handheld will have to wait. The smartphone version will include in-app purchases that the developer says don’t need to be used to beat the game.

The developer details the game’s premise:

The story will focus less on dynamic problem-solving and more on solving multiple mystery cases observed in the everyday lives of Londoners, which will bring a faster tempo and more comical tone to the series. It will be more familiar — and funnier — than ever, while maintaining an adventurous quality. The creators of the puzzles and brain-teasers, the core element of the series, will also be new.

You can check out both 3DS and smartphone versions of the game below, respectively:
