Lake is About Delivering Mail and Second Chances, Arriving Later This Year
Take a trip back in time and drive around.
An upcoming title from Gamious finds players embracing the role of a postal worker, delivering mail across a town. Lake goes deeper than that though as players are able to shape their story through the game’s branching narrative.
Set in 1986, players control Meredith Weiss who has taken a break from her main job, opting to deliver mail across her hometown instead. The game seems to take place across a two week period and comes with an interactive story in which choices and actions lead to one of three different endings.
Player’s will be able to make friends, build romantic relationships, reconnect with an old best friend, and help the community out, such as preventing apartments being constructed, bail or rat out a colleague for something, and more. In Lake, players will be able to drive around the world freely and progress through the point-and-click style story sections. While Lake allows players to make choices, apparently players will be able to correct any mistakes they feel they may have made.
In the trailer above, you can see the gameplay in action, sporting a gentle and cartoony like art-style. The world itself seems to come across as very empty with what looks like hard any pedestrians and vehicles roaming the world. Instead, players get to gaze over the Oregon setting.
An official release date hasn’t been set for Lake yet, but it is expected to arrive later this year in Q4 2020. A Steam page is already up but the game is also planned for consoles, however, which consoles those are have not yet been stated.
