Masaya Games, Extreme, and Chara-ani Corporation announced today on Langrisser I&II's official site that the game is getting delayed. Initially scheduled to release in Japan on February 7, it will now launch on April 18, 2019. The game was delayed in order to "further improve its quality". However, to allow players to have an early taste, a demo will be coming. Further details on the demo will be revealed at a later date.

Langrisser I&II, for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, is a game featuring full remakes of Langrisser I and Langrisser II, tactical RPGs which released in 1991 and 1994 respectively. The Langrisser games have already been ported and remade multiple times in the past, and the latest console game in the series is Langrisser Re:Incarnation Tensei, which launched for 3DS in April 2016 in the west. Meanwhile, Langrisser Mobile is coming west in 2019. Pre-registrations for the game are open, and the game's social media accounts regularly publish new gameplay videos, screenshots, and information.

Langrisser I&II also features new stories compared to the original games, and a new character, Betty, appears in Langrisser I's story.  Langrisser I&II has character designs by Ar Tonelico's Ryou Nagi. The game will be fully voiced as well, with the characters having new voices compared to previous remakes. It's important to note the voices actors are also different than the ones in the mobile game. Here's the cast listed on the official site. One interesting thing to note is that multiple side characters in both games share voice actors, as that must have been cheaper than getting more people. Another interesting thing is that almost all voice actors are affiliated with the Early Wing agency. Game companies often have deals with a voice actor agencies. This happens a lot with anime as well.

The game will also get a Classic Mode DLC which adds BGM from the original games and artwork by legendary artist Satoshi Urushihara, who in the past handled the character design of all the Langrisser series. The Classic Mode DLC will come for free in first print copies of the game, and the digital version will include it as well for a limited time.

The Limited Edition of Langrisser I&II, with a cover by Satoshi Urushihara, will contain the game, a Visual Book, a "Classic Art Collection" artbook, the Classic Mode DLC, and an OST of all the remake's music and the originals' music, all by Noriyuki Iwadare.
