Earlier this month, Nintendo announced the latest Splatfest in Splatoon 2 would pit two popular film genres against one another, action versus comedy. Now, after 24 hours of intense Turf War matches comedy movies have come out as the winner of the event.

While action movies were the more popular choice amongst Splatoon 2 owners during this event, those who selected comedy really pulled through during solo and team matches, resulting in a 2-1 victory over team action. Players from across the globe participated amongst one another in this event. Occasionally Nintendo will host Splatfest events in Splatoon 2 that are exclusive to that particular region, but in this case, all regions were able to collectively participate.

Since its launch back in July of last year, Splatoon 2 has received a slew of updates in the form of new maps, weapons, and game modes. The title received two of its biggest updates yet before the end of the year, and Nintendo still plans on rolling out additional content for free throughout 2018. Splatoon 2 is available right now exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.
