In the last "Iwata Asks," Xenoblade Chronicles X general director revealed that he had to "burn bridges" to develop the previous title. This time around, he chronicles the elaborate development process behind the sequel.

For this session, we have the aformentioned general director Tetsuya Takahashi, scriptwriter Yuichiro Takeda, scriptwriter Kazuho Hyodo, Monolith Soft director Koh Kojima and Genki Yokota from the Software Planning and Development group.

We learn about the process of creating an entire planet that can be completely explored. It's also revealed that the world is divided into hexagon segments to aid players in their exploration. There's also plenty of information on the "loosely connected" online features, the giant mechs Skells and more.
