Latest Titanfall Patch Introduces Smart-Pistol Instant Lock-on Exploit, Respawn "Working On It"
A recent patch for Titanfall pushed down by Respawn Entertainment ended up causing even more headaches for some competitive players, since thanks to that same patch there is now an exploit allowing for the Smart-Pistol to instantly lock-on.
The glitch specifically deals with the PC version, which gives the option to unlock and set the framerate at above 60hz. Normally this would be a good thing. The problem is that the lock-on time for smart weapons is tied to this number, giving a game-crippling competitive advantage for those who abuse it.
Here’s video footage demonstrating how the exploit works (thanks FrothyOmen for the video):
Apparently Respawn is aware of the situation and is currently working on a fix, as shown by a Twitter user addressing them and their response:

Hopefully this glitch is fixed soon, as it seriously disturbs Titanfall‘s balance.
