Believe it or not, League of Legends is set to turn 10-years-old next month. In the leadup to that anniversary, Riot Games today announced some plans that it has in store next month along with a status update on the game's current player numbers.

On October 15, Riot will be holding a variety of livestreams and other events. One of these events will come in the form of a new edition of Riot Pls, which will take place at 6:00pm PST/9:00pm EST on the 15th. Riot says that this stream will "take a look back at our favorite League moments and share a glimpse of the future, including a first look at this year's preseason changes and TFT's next big content update."

As for the current status of League of Legends, Riot revealed that the game still reaches about 8 million concurrent players per day around the world. This makes League of Legends easily the biggest PC game in the world, a title that it has held for years at this point. Even though the game is now nearly a decade old, it shows no signs of slowing any time soon.

Lastly, Riot also revealed the new banner art for League of Legends, which you can see in the above image. This logo is said to be modernized, and for the most part, I think it looks fine.

It should be a pretty big next few months for League of Legends. Not only will the game's 10th anniversary be occurring next month, but Worlds 2019 is also set to kick off soon as well. If you're still playing this MOBA as much as I (unfortunately) do every week, there should be quite a bit to look forward to before the year ends.
