Learn Game Design From Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag’s Creative Director With Spearhead Games’ Project Cyber

on March 31, 2014 12:04 PM

As presented by Spearhead Games and their “Game Design Master Class,” students and would be game creators can learn much about game design from Jean Guesdon, the creative director of Ubisoft’s last hit, Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. The video can be viewed below, and showcases Guesdon as he discusses the use of the scoping tool on Spearhead Games’ work-in-progress, Project Cyber.

Project Cyber is a team-based competitive game, open to the community for development during its earliest stages. The developers encourage participants to watch the game evolve, playtest it, and have an active hand in designing the game, which is currently in its pre-demo stage. You can learn more about the project on the Project Cyber Steam page.

Born and raised in video games and "geek culture," Masoud has been bred off of fantasy worlds his entire life and doesn't see anything wrong with that. He loves RPGs (especially TRPGs), sandbox games, the sci-fi genre, dieselpunk, art deco, and anything that allows him to create. Having graduated from John Jay College with a degree in English and a minor in Creative Writing, Masoud hopes to one day pen the same novels, comics, movies, and video games he enjoys escaping into when the real world gets too boring.
