On Friday, Valve announced The Sacrifice, an expansion for the Left 4 Dead series. That’s right, series: The Sacrifice will be compatible with both games.  This expansion will tell the story of The Passing, the final campaign from Left 4 Dead 2, from the perspectives of the first game’s characters, and will allow players to choose which member of the original cast passes away.

While The Sacrifice provides content for both games, those with Left 4 Dead 2 will benefit from more new content, including new weapons and zombies, than will players who only have the first game.

As usual, this DLC will be free for PC but will be a paid download on Xbox Live.  More details will be released next month.
