The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV has a release date for Japan, while western gamers still don't know whether they'll get III or not.

This week’s issue of Weekly Famitsu (which is officially releasing tomorrow, but has already leaked like every week) reveals the Japanese release date of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV – The End of Saga.

The game will hit the Japanese shelves on September 27th, costing 7,800 yen plus taxes. A Collector’s Edition priced at 11,800 yen will also be available. This pretty much follows the local tradition of September releases for the series, so it’s not unexpected.

Unfortunately, this means that we know the Japanese release date of the fourth and final chapter of the sub-series before getting a confirmation that the third will even get a release in the west, let alone having a launch window. It’s hard to be a western The Legend of Heroes fan.

The game will launch in Japan exclusively for PS4.

If you want to see some images of the game, you can also enjoy a recent batch of screenshots, the previous gallery, the one before and an older batch, all showing returning characters.
