Legend of Heroes: Sen no Kiseki will be released in Japan later this year for PS3 and PS Vita, and today Nihon Falcom shared a few bits of information about the game, accompanied by a batch of screenshots and artwork.

We meet three new characters:

  • Gaius Wozel: a cross-spear user coming from the Nord Plateau where he trained horses and grazed sheep before joining  the academy thanks to the recommendation of an officer of the imperial army. He’s seventeen.
  • Claire: an officer of the Train Military Police under the direct control of the Prime Minister. She’s nicknamed “Ice Maiden” because of her strict demeanor, unwavering will and exceptional command abilities. She’s twenty-four years old and fights with a force gun.
  • Rufus Albarea: He’s 27 years old and fights with a knight’s sword. He’s also Jusis’ (one of the protagonists of the game) older brother and the heir to the title of Duke of Albarea.

In addition to the characters we get a glimpse on the area of the Nord Plateau, a semi-independent land contended between the Empire and the Republic and dotted with nomadic settlements from which Gaius hails. Those villages made of Mongolian-style transportable houses named Gel are relocated every time the seasons change.

One of the new screenshots also depicts the Aurochs Fortress, that served for generations as the ancestral home of the Dukes of Albarea.

Finally we learn about the Train Military Police, an elite unit of the Imperial Army created by the “Iron Chancelor” Girias Osborne and specialized in keeping the Empire secure by using its extensive rail network. It will play an important part in the game’s story.

Personally, I can’t wait to play this game, even if the possibility to do so in English are a tad on the thin side. You never know, though. A miracle might always happen.

He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
