Nintendo just held a Nintendo Switch hands-on event for the general public at the Tokyo Big Sight venue in Japan, and the livestream showcased a nice chunk of gameplay of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

In the first video below, you can check out the game played in Television mode: we see the beginning of the game, a lot of exploration, some swimming, combat, NPC interaction and even a stray death.

The second video, while not direct feed, is perhaps even more interesting, as it shows the game running in portable mode, and even more relevant, the fairly seamless switch back to television mode. We see the host remove the Joy-Con controllers from the console, attach them to the Joy-Con grip, plop the Switch back in the dock, and after roughly four seconds, the game appears on the TV screen.

You can check out both videos below, and if you want to see more, you can enjoy two more gameplay videos (one, two) a batch of new screenshots, and the latest gameplay trailer.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been confirmed just yesterday as a launch title for Nintendo Switch, and will release on March 3rd, at the same time as the console.
