LEGO and Minecraft: Together at Last!

on January 25, 2012 5:00 PM

Whenever you walk into a GameStop and take a gander at the list of titles available for pre-order on any given console, you can rest assured at least two if not three LEGO games will show up. In a twist on the usual LEGO-set-turned-video-game formula, the Cuusoo branch of the infamous toy building block company announced it will release a set inspired by Minecraft.

File this one under “Things that totally make sense.” After all, the basis of the gameplay in Minecraft is that you’re constantly building, sometimes to such lengths that you create a full-scale model of the Kanto region from the original Pokemon games or all of Hyrule from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. No word yet on when this set will retail, as Cuusoo said, “These things take time, so we appreciate your patience.”
