Lethal Running Channels Dystopian Super Smash TV on Steam Greenlight

May 14, 2017

Developer Voodoosoft is tackling the always fun world of televised murderfests with Lethal Running. This action RPG is being developed for PC and Mac with an ‘early 2018’ release date. The developer is hoping to find would-be survivors to vote it through the Steam Greenlight process. Do you want to take part in some futuristic reality TV fun?

The premise of the game is simple: you’re poor and the only way to get out of the hovel (that includes most of humanity) is to allow yourself to be a) hunted and b) filmed while being hunted. But you’re no defenseless prey: you’ll have guns and other weapons to defend yourself while bounty hunters are constantly on your tail.

Lethal Running contains RPG elements with the ability for you to level up your weapons and your melee attacks. You can invest in engineering skills and set traps or develop vaccines for contagious diseases. Surviving will take more than just and constant spray of bullets and blood.

Other features include:

It’s nice seeing a game with a Super Smash TV premise and Enter the Gungeon type action. The survival sim addition make Lethal Runner stand out and the game’s art goes for a stripped down but realistic style to match the darker tones of the story.

You can vote for it right now on Greenlight and keep track of Voodoosoft’s progress on their IndieDB page. I personally hope the game makes it through since anything that features deadly survival programs is good in my books.
