Publisher and developer Level-5 -- who you may recognize from Ni no Kuni, Yo-kai Watch, Dark Cloud, and more -- has announced that it has acquired the legendary Keji Inafune's studio Comcept, who recently gave us Mighty No. 9 and helped give ReCore with Armature on Xbox One.

As you may know, Comcept -- now known as Level-5 Comcept -- was founded at the end of 2010 by Keiji Inafune (who is famed for this work on the Mega Man and Onimusha series), consisting of a veteran of Mega Man developers.

The news come via the latest issue of Famitsu, who also says that Level-5 Comcept will retain its current team, which currently numbers around 15. Talks of expansion of the studio are already underway.

The first product of the partnership with be the Android and iOS release of Dragon Colonies, which is poised to release sometime next year in Japan. The game is apparently a real-time PvP that tasks players with building up the "Halocolony." There is currently no word of a plan to bring the title to the west.

Notably, Inafune-san has confirmed that the acquisition will not effect titles the studio is currently working on, such as Red Ash: The Indelible Legend, a failed Kickstarter title in development for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
