It was revealed today that Level-5 is planning to release a new trailer for Megaton Musashi during the Jump Festa 2019 event.

Just like Inazuma Eleven or Yo-Kai Watch, Megaton Musashi is supposed to be a multimedia project, including toys, a game, and an anime adaptation. The Megaton Musashi game is supposed to be a mecha themed JRPG. The story takes place on an Earth devastated by alien attacks, with humanity living in shelters, and trying to drive back the aliens with combining giant robots.

Personally, I was far from being impressed by the project's pilot film which released along with the game's initial announcement more than two years ago. Not that it looked bad, it simply felt way too stereotypical, like if they made it while checking a list of what they should do in a mecha anime. Hopefully, the game's first trailer won't give off that impression.

Jump Festa 2019 takes place from December 21 to December 23, 2018, in Japan. Megaton Musashi was initially announced for 3DS and with a summer 2017 release but this never happened. There's a fairly high chance the game is being developed for new platforms now. Recently, an even older game by Level-5 which never released, Ushiro, was revived as well, though its development hasn't started yet.
