A new Lies of P gameplay trailer showcases the dark world of the Pinocchio-themed soulslike. The four-minute-long trailer showcases various landscapes from the nightmarish city of Krat, alongside a series of strange characters, Mr.Gepetto, and his grotesque and mechanical minions.

The trailer reveals the anticipated title's strange characters in addition to a wide array of different locations in its decaying world. It looks like players will have to overcome hell and high water as Pinnochio in Lies of P. During their journey in Krat, players will also get their hands on a rich weapon arsenal, as the fairytale character uses a lot of different weapons that include an iron shovel, an electrified sword, and more. Based on the title's Steam page, crafting unique weapons by combining them "in a multitude of ways to create something new altogether" is possible as well.

While the Belle Époque world of Lies of P does seem inviting and quite thrilling, a point worth noting about the trailer is definitely the game's villain, Mr. Gepetto himself. As the creator of Pinnochio, the old man is depicted as an evil creator in Neowiz's soulslike title. In the trailer video, he refers to Pinnochio as "son," as he stands face-to-face against the protagonist. The video ends with a group of masked people carrying a coffin and inviting Pinnochio inside as they call him a liar.

Lies of P aims to enhance the soulslike formula with its unique take on Carlo Collodi's Pinnochio. The title's Steam page states that the game will not only embrace the soulslike elements in its essence but will also offer "interconnected procedural quests that play out depending on how you lie." The choices made throughout the game will affect the end of the story, increasing the game's level of replayability.

While the new gameplay trailer added a bit more context to what to expect from Lies of P, it did not reveal the title's definitive release date. We do know that it is near completion though, as the Game Director Choi Ji-Won stated that the development was 70% completed back in November. And we know that the game will land on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam when it makes its debut in 2023. It is worth noting that the action soulslike was announced back in January 2021 and has been in development at Neowiz and Round 8 Studio.
