With the deeply developed and heartbreaking backstories of these characters, it can be hard to decide on a favorite. That's why we've compiled this list of all the best characters in the Life is Strange Series.

10 Victoria Chase

Victoria speaks to Maxine outside dorms life is strange

Victoria Chase is not somebody who you would expect to be featured in this kind of list. However, despite her many flaws and rude nature, she is definitely an interesting character. As a rich, snobby, and very pretentious young student, Victoria has several clashes with many characters throughout her time in the first game.

Even though she may be insufferable at times, a more creative and artistic Victoria can be seen in Life is Strange. She confides with Max that she would love to be a photographer and shows this in Jefferson's classroom.

9 Steph Gingrich

Steph Gingrich smiles at the camera from life is strange

Steph Gingrich is a confident and nerdy character who gained popularity during her first appearance in the series. Her experiences playing Dungeons and Dragons doesn't mean she's the stereotypical nerdy tabletop gamer. Instead, she is a lively and engaging character who definitely deserved her second appearance in True Colors.

With a crush on Rachel Amber, Steph brings representation to the series. As one of the few openly homosexual characters in the game, she brings a refreshing portrayal of the LGBTQIA+ community. Max's journal also states that "she's into girls, and she doesn't give a shit what anyone else thinks about it."

8 Daniel Diaz

Daniel_Diaz uses his powers at the border

Although Daniel Diaz entered the game as an annoying and frustrating character, we soon understand the reasoning behind his actions. Family is at the core of his beliefs. All he wants is a solid family foundation to lean on in tough times. Despite his innocence at the beginning of the game, Daniel's abilities take over as he begins to get emotional in the story.

From a sweet young boy to a powerful and out-of-control superhero, Daniel really brings all elements of his personality to the ultimate boundaries.

7 Lyla Park

Lyla Park talks to Sean Diaz

Lyla Park is the best friend of Sean Diaz and has a deep relationship with the main character of Life is Strange 2. With a witty and clever personality, she works well to help Sean relieve himself from the role of being a big brother. Despite her lively appearance in front of Sean, Lyla does suffer from depression.

If the player chose not to call her in Episode 1, it's suggested that she entered a clinic to help with her depression. The realistic representation of her mental health struggles, and her relationship with Sean, makes her an appealing and relatable character who is loved by many.

6 Kate Marsh

Kate Marsh is the lovable religious girl who reeks of innocence. As a shy character, she begins to open up to Max, and a friendship is formed between the two. Her being drugged at a party really tugged on many players' heartstrings as the innocent character was put into a rough situation. Of course, Victoria Chase doesn't make this easier for her.

However, her innocence in a time when many characters are struggling with their own internal battles makes her a lovable and caring character.

5 Joyce Price

Trying her best after the loss of her husband (and Chloe Price's father), Joyce Price is the ultimate mother figure for more than just Chloe. An underappreciated character, Joyce does her best to keep her family going after the tragic loss of her husband. She is kind, caring, and definitely a big influential figure for Chloe.

Unfortunately, her death was unofficially confirmed with the whole destruction of Arcadia Bay. However, this is only the case if players choose to save Chloe in the end, rather than Arcadia Bay.

4 Brody Holloway

Brody holloway speaks to sean diaz from life is strange

Brody seems like an odd choice to put on this list due to his first encounter with Sean and Daniel. While he is initially painted as a creepy guy, it isn't long before Sean and Daniel become friends with Brody. They discover his deep past, which is part of what makes him such a lovable character. This is reinforced by how Brody helps the boys escape. He keeps the boys safe during the short time they are with him.

As a travel journalist, he also has some interesting stories and articles you can discover multiple times throughout the game. Brody comes from a rich family with 'no soul,' which shows extra depth to the character and makes his travel all that more interesting.

3 Sean Diaz

Sean Diaz is the protagonist of Life is Strange 2 and the older brother of Daniel Diaz. As the epitome of a big brother, Sean is caring and fun. Sean and Daniel run away after a family accident that leads to two deaths. Their relationship is tested by Daniel's new-found superpowers.

Sean always looks for the best situation for himself and his brother. He is constantly on the search for a new home. After several mishaps, the brothers' bond goes on a rollercoaster ride and is pushed to its limits. No matter what, Sean will always love his little brother Daniel.

2 Max Caulfield

max caulfield

Max Caulfield is the first protagonist players meet in the Life is Strange universe. A kind and caring character, Max always has everyone's best interests at heart. She tries her best to be a fair and calm person. Her relatability as a young teenager means that much of her audience can empathize with her struggles. Well, apart from her time manipulation and reversing superpowers.

Watching Maxine handle all her teenage woes, while also trying to save her city and friends, is engaging. Max's situation paints a brilliant storyline for the first game in the Life is Strange series.

1 Chloe Price

chloe price life is strange

Chloe Price is the most iconic-looking and acting character in all of the Life is Strange games. With her electric blue hair, punky clothes, and an attitude to match, getting on the wrong side of this strong character would be a bad idea. Despite her rough and scaly exterior, Chloe is a big softie with a heart of gold toward her friends and family.

The most interesting aspect of Chloe is how she takes pieces of everyone she meets along with her. Her mannerisms, attitude, speech, and appearance are all pointers to past people who entered her life. She is a collage of a person made from varied experiences.
