As a prequel to the runaway hit Life is Strange, the upcoming Life is Strange: Before the Storm aims to bring players back in time to see the burgeoning relationship between Chloe Price and her best friend Rachael in the wake of mysterious events in Arcadia Bay.

Publisher Square Enix released a new developer diary video today highlighting what players can expect from Before the Storm, with the video particularly focusing on the dynamics between Chloe and Rachael and the creative team's role in shaping their relationship.

Included in the video are several interviews with some of the key creatives behind Before the Storm, including Ashly Burch (who voiced Chloe in the first season and is now a writing consultant on Before the Storm) and actress Rhianna Devries, who is taking over the role of Chloe for the prequel. Lead writer Zak Gariss also makes an appearance in the video to highlight creating the story and how players will experience a different side (and state) of Chloe Price prior to the events of the first game.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm will debut its first of three episodes for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on August 31st, 2017 - in the meantime, you can check out the brand new video offering behind-the-scenes info on the title below:
