Dead Island has had a long and very interesting journey from initial announcement to the final product. While the launch of the game was plagued with a decent amount of bugs which were quickly fixed, the real star of the show is still the initial trailer which captivated everybody’s imagination.
Gamers weren’t the only ones impressed, as Lionsgate films have acquired the rights to Dead Island and are using the initial trailer as a core inspiration for the movie. Joe Drake of Lionsgate had this to say:
“Like the hundreds of journalists and millions of fans who were so passionate and vocal about theDead Island trailer, we too were awestruck.” He continued, “This is exactly the type of property we’re looking to adapt at Lionsgate – it’s sophisticated, edgy, and a true elevation of a genre that we know and love. It also has built in brand recognition around the world, and franchise potential.”
