To bring some indie charm to the Nintendo Direct, Tarsier Studios revealed that their deeply disturbing 2D platformer Little Nightmares to Nintendo Switch. Even better, the game will get some unique functionality, thanks to bizarre amiibo support.
Little Nightmares was revealed to be coming to Nintendo Switch earlier today in the Nintendo Direct. Even better to those coming on new, the Nintendo Switch version will be the Complete Edition. In other words, it will come packed in with the various Secrets of the Maw DLC that has released since the game’s original launch — the last of which just rolled out weeks ago.
And what was that about amiibo support? You hear me right. According to the Nitnendo Direct, the protagonist in Little Nightmares: Complete Edition can gain a sincerely bizarre Pac-Man mask — dubbed the “Pakku Mask” — by (you guessed it) tapping the Pac-Man amiibo. While weird at first, this shouldn’t be a major surprise at second glance, given that Bandai Namco produced it.
Little Nightmares: Complete Edition is launching for Nintendo Switch on May 18; the game is already available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, as is all of the DLC updates. DualShockers reviewed Little Nightmares when it first launched, awarding it a 9.0 out of 10 while noting that it is a “genuinely unnerving and eerie experience that never cheaply earns its thrills and scares.”
