Twilight of Edo Japan chapter in Live A Live has two main key items that are essential for progression called the Storehouse Key and the Dungeon Key. The storehouse key is used to unlock two important doors for both grinding and story advancement.

The Keys can be tough to locate when players are on their first playthrough, especially if they started their Live A Live journey with the Twilight of Edo Japan Chapter. Using this guide can help players locate these essential items with ease.

Twilight of Edo Japan Storehouse Key

Live A Live Twilight of Edo Japan Storehouse Key

As its name suggests, the Storeroom Key is used to enter the Storeroom in the Twilight of Edo Japan Chapter of Live A Live. This item is essential to completing the chapter, but it can be tough to locate without help.

  • First of All, take note of the bell ringing and observe Oboromaru's note about whether it's correct to use the "Origin" password or the "River" password.
  • Bypass the group of guards in the first section and answer their password inquiry as appropriate, then enter the Guestroom.
  • You will find 3 Japanese Shoji doors (Wooden Sliding Doors). Enter the leftmost door, continue forward to the other door, then bypass the Ninja in the room and continue north to the outside.
  • Traverse the area, and cross the bridge until you find a door with two guards in front of it and a wandering ninja. The door to the south of here is actually the location of the Dungeon Key, but we need the storehouse key to open it, so ignore it for now, and answer the guards' password question to enter the residential palace.
  • Enter the middle Shoji door and pass through the hidden wall door to the right of the sitting person in front to find a secret area with a ladder that will take you to the attic. Use your cloaking ability to bypass the fast Ninja in the attic and go outside to the roof of the castle.
  • Continue in a straightforward manner down, then right until you enter a room with a rat and a trap. Go past the trap and outside again. Go up the wooden ladder and continue to the left until you enter another residential palace. As soon as you enter you will find a room with two rats and three chests. The middle one contains the Storehouse Key.

Dungeon Key and Secret Grinding Room

Live A Live Twilight of Edo Japan Dungeon Key

The Dungeon Key will open the Dungeon in Live A Live's Twilight of Edo Japan Chapter. Similar to the previous item, this key can be difficult to locate on a first run.

  • Tread back to the residential palace and when you get out of the middle door, before you go back to the Area with the Dungeon Key door to the south, you can take a side trip by going through the right shoji door and continue north to the outside.
  • From there cross the bridge to find a locked door that could only be opened with the Storehouse Key. This room contains treasure chests that hold many useful items, lost souls enemy variant, and a woman who is actually a very hard enemy.
  • You can ignore the woman for now, but make use of these lost souls who refresh as you go inside and outside to level up as much as you need. Then go back to the area where the door to find the dungeon key lies in the south of the wandering Ninja.
  • As soon as you step in front of the chest, a Ninja will descend and fight you, but you can take the Key and cloak yourself by pressing Y until you go outside.
  • The dungeon key can be used to unlock the prison rooms in the main castle, which can be accessed from the lower floor or if you descend from any level by falling into the traps lying in the different four floors of the castle. A certain prison room in the lower level has the prisoner you came to save. You can send him away or recruit him depending on your style of playthrough, and he will help you regardless in fighting enemies or disarming traps in the castle.
