The folks at Pittsburgh-based developer Mega Cat Studios have made a name for themselves by making games for retro platforms such as the Nintendo Entertainment System and Sega Genesis—and they’re looking to bring their NES game Log Jammers to modern platforms.

If the title sounds like a riff of Windjammers to you, your instincts are correct. Mega Cat announced that they will begin a Kickstarter campaign to bring their arcade sports game, which originally had an NES cartridge release, to PS4, Xbox One, and Switch.

Log Jammers features “blade-throwing, axe-catching carnage,” with bizarre and absurd characters and stages—“timber beasts” compete in environments including a beaver pond and a mayonnaise factory. Unlike the colorful and bouncy game that it inspired, this game has more horrific elements to its art style.

Mega Cat’s most recent release was their Xbox One port of their Genesis game, Coffee Crisis. The Kickstarter campaign for Log Jammers will begin on September 12, and will aim for release on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Meanwhile, a demo is available on Steam.
