Loki Episode 5 - Castle Theories

If you haven't watched the latest episode of Loki on Disney+, turn back now, spoilers are inbound.

Just before the end credits roll for Loki, we see Loki and Sylvie head towards a large, glooming castle. So, was it Castle Doom? Well, nobody really knows, but we do have a lot of theories.

Many fans started by pointing out that it looks almost identical to Castle Doom from the comic books.

However, some fans believe that although it likely is Doom Castle, it's too early to bring in Doctor Doom himself. Reddit user belligerentbanana69 had the following theory:

"I do think that it is Dr. Doom's Castle, but since they haven't released an official release year for the Fantastic 4 I do not think that they'd bring in Dr. Doom this early on. It's more than likely Kang the Conqueror just residing in there."

Whilst this is a solid theory, there were rumours circulating at the beginning of 2021 stating that Marvel had found the MCU's Doctor Doom actor. In an exclusive report from Giant Freakin Robot, it was claimed that Michael Fassbender would be joining the MCU as Doctor Doom.

If the rumour is to be believed, could Doctor Doom make his appearance in the finale of Loki? We have to agree with the theory that this is likely Castle Doom, but won't feature Doctor Doom himself.

There are also numerous theories from fans that it is actually Castle Limbo, and Kang the Conqueror will be residing inside of the giant structure.

As pointed out by Twitter user Keizi in a follow-up tweet, Kang's city-base of Chronopolis was depicted as existing outside of time, and could exist in a temporal limbo. Alioth is also known for taking over Kang's dimension, so it would make sense for it to be stuck in limbo because of Alioth.

It looks like fans will have to wait until next week to find out if the Castle belongs to Doctor Doom or Kang the Conquerer.
