Will Loki's Serpent Child Ever Appear in The MCU?
Loki's children are a nightmare.
Marvel fans know that Loki has three children in the comics, including the serpent Jörmungandr. However, almost every fan wonders if Serpent or Loki’s other two children will ever appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
Undoubtedly, Loki plays a very crucial role in MCU. He is so much more than just a God of mischief playing troubling pranks on his brother and humanity. However, even after watching Loki in multiple movies, we know very little about him.
Well, with the upcoming Disney+ series that will solely focus on Loki’s character, things are going to change. But does that mean we’ll finally see Loki’s child Serpent in the MCU as well?

Where are Loki’s Children in the MCU?
As we’ve previously mentioned, in Norse mythology, Loki had three children with the giantess Angrboda; Fenrir, Jormungandr, and Hel. And in the Marvel comics, these three were also depicted as Loki’s children.
Of course, the most dangerous of the three children is Hela, the Asgardian queen of death. Then, there is Fenrir, a wolf who can change his size as he wishes and possess human-like intelligence. And the third child of Loki is the Midgard Serpent, who is enormous enough to encircle the entire Earth.
Now, the question is, why MCU didn’t include Loki’s children in the movies? Well, interestingly, Hel and Fenris already made an appearance in Thor: Ragnarok movie. However, MCU didn’t like the idea of introducing Loki’s children in the movies as they were depicted in the comics.
In the movie, Hela was introduced as Thor’s sister, who Odin imprisoned in Hel for millennia. And shockingly, Fenris was her pet, which Hela resurrected through the Eternal flame.
So, it’s quite clear that the MCU diverted away from Norse mythology and Marvel comics. However, there’s still one Loki’s child who didn’t appear in the MCU, the Midgard Serpent.
Honestly, similar to the other two children, Loki’s third child from Marvel comics can very well appear in the MCU. However, it’s also safe to assume that he won’t actually appear in the movies as Loki’s child. Instead, writers might introduce him as an enormous beast sleeping in the depth of the oceans of Earth, who is awakened by someone to kill Thor.
