It looks like Lords of the Fallen won't be getting its sequel until 2017, and the co-developer of the original game, Deck 13, won't be working on the sequel.

The news comes by way of a Eurogamer interview with CI Games boss Marek Tyminsk.

When asked about why they would no longer be working with Deck 13, Tyminsk stated that the matter was confidential but elaborated a bit more on the situation;

We have spoken about certain things we could probably do after the release of Lords of the Fallen but at the end of the day we came to the conclusion, both sides, that it won't happen, and as far as I know they have another project, and I wish them luck.

When asked about Lords of the Fallen 2 Tyminsk said that they plan to release it in 2017 and that they're "taking all of the lessons from Lords of the Fallen 1 to make... a much better game."

Lords of the Fallen launched last October and has reached over 900,000 sales according to Tyminsk which looks like it was enough to approve the sequel as well as the "Game of the Year Edition" of the game that will be releasing late next month.
