Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey Now Available Digitally for Xbox One Backward Compatibility

Following an announcement that the entire Bioshock trilogy will be entering Xbox One Backward Compatibility program earlier this week, Xbox Live’s Director of Programming Larry Hyrb, or “Major Nelson”, once again took to Twitter to announce that both Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon are now available digitally for the program.

When the pair were initially added to the Xbox One backward compatibility library, they were available only to those players who owned original disc copies. Since then, the minds behind the program have engineered a solution, and now both are available digitally.

Here’s hoping that the team finds solutions for other games that are currently only disc compatible, like Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3, in the near future.

Head of Xbox Phil Spencer Tweeted about the program earlier today, mentioning that nearly 50% of Xbox One owners are playing backwards compatible games.
