Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer (Hoshi no Samidare), one of the most beloved manga of the 2000s, unexpectedly got a TV anime adaptation announced this January 24. With a Summer 2022 release date.

What is Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer? Spoilers-free introduction

Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer is one of the manga that was all the talk in the late 2000s early 2010. Before the advent of AniTwitter, AniTuber, and micro blogging. Pretty much every single anime blog who knew its stuff would talk about Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer. And praise it as one of the best manga ever. Now, Hoshi no Samidare is actually getting an anime. With a teaser page and a first key visual revealed.

Satoshi Mizukami wrote and illustrated The Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer. And its originality is why many consider it a masterpiece. Especially when handling fantasy themes and anti-hero protagonists. If you'd like to check it out, the original Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer manga is available at Seven Seas or digitally on Crunchyroll in the US.

Why fans of Hoshi no Samidare (Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer) are hyped

Pretty much everyone thought an anime adaptation of Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer would never happen. Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer ended in August 2010 after a five-year run. As such there is no reason why a capitalistic fueled Anime Production Committee would green-light an anime adaptation. As there is no manga, novel, or original product to advertise with it anymore. Unlike Planet With, for example. A Mizukami story that started as an anime and is now continuing as a manga.

Taking all of this into account, Hoshi no Samidare might just be getting a mediocre anime adaptation. To milk out the longtime fans. I am wishfully thinking this won't happen. Seeing Satoshi Mizukami is involved in the anime project.
