Lucifer With Us from Kitfox Games popped up at last year's Kinda Funny Showcase. The game made a new appearance with a beautiful new trailer at today's iteration of IGN's Summer of Gaming live stream. This trailer shows off some of the deduction-based gameplay in action. It looks pretty slick. Give it a watch below.

In Lucifer Within Us, you play as a digital exorcist who must solve the game's many virtual mysteries and purify the possessed of their daemons. In this gameplay look, we see an example of the lead character putting their deduction skills to the test. Basically, you'll interrogate and observe each suspect and then use the information you gather to spot their contradictions.

It's handled in a smooth, timed window conversation that lets you match up testimonies and facts from one person against another. It all looks very slick and is enhanced by the well-drawn character portraits.

Of course, this is a game that lives and dies on its story. The premise is certainly intriguing and, given the studios pedigree, I'll be surprised if they don't craft an excellent narrative. They previously released the exceptional Moon Hunters and is also working on Boyfriend Dungeon. Plus, they've published games like The Shrouded Isle and Six Ages: Ride Like the Wind. It's safe to say, this is a studio that understands storytelling.

Lucifer Within Us doesn't have a firm release date just yet. That said, the trailer does say it's coming in 2020. Thus far, PC is the only confirmed platform, though it wouldn't be shocking to see it also come elsewhere.
