Luigi’s Mansion 3 is Getting New Multiplayer DLC in 2020
Luigi won't be getting scared alone, as new DLC is coming to the multiplayer modes for Luigi's Mansion 3 starting in April 2020.
With its release back on Halloween of this year, the long-awaited Luigi’s Mansion 3 finally gave fans of the series a new spooky installment to look forward to after Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon in 2013 on 3DS. Thankfully, the game more than delivered on giving players a spooky good time, and it appears that there is plenty more to come in the new year for the game, especially if you are a fan of its multiplayer modes.
Nintendo has officially announced that new multiplayer DLC will be coming to Luigi’s Mansion 3 next year in a two-part expansion bundle. The Luigi’s Mansion 3 Multiplayer Pack will offer two parts of new content for the game’s multiplayer components for $9.99, with the first part to release on April 30, 2020, and the second to release on July 31, 2020.
According to Nintendo, the first part of the multiplayer expansion will include three new mini-games for the game’s ScreamPark mode, alongside three new outfits for Luigi to wear, and new floor themes and ghosts to combat in the ScareScraper mode. The second part of the DLC will feature new content for both the ScreamPark and ScareScraper modes, including three additional mini-games and outfits alongside more floor themes and ghosts. Pre-orders for the new multiplayer expansion (which are available for Switch owners today) will also give players a new Polterpup light called the Flashlight Type-P, which can be used in either the game’s story mode or ScareScraper mode.
Having played through Luigi’s Mansion 3 for review a few weeks back, it’s encouraging to see Nintendo (and developer Next Level Games) continuing to support the game well after its Halloween launch with new DLC. Though personally the multiplayer modes for the game aren’t what I was drawn to (compared at least to its excellent story mode), hopefully this is only the first of more new content to come, whether that is for the multiplayer modes or (I would hope) for the story mode.
Luigi’s Mansion 3 is available now exclusively on Nintendo Switch, and you can pick the game up now over at Amazon. For a closer look at the game’s upcoming multiplayer DLC expansions, you can check out the images below from Nintendo:
