Madden 20 Inducts Four New Players into Coveted “99 Club”

The 99 Club is an exclusive group of players rated 99 overall in Madden. Over the last week, EA Tiburon has revealed the four players joining in Madden 20.

One of the biggest pre-release events of Madden every year is finding out which players will join the prestigious “99 Club”. These players make up the very small pool of athletes who are rated as 99 overall in EA’s popular football game. This season, four players make up the initial club. More could be added as rosters are updated over the 2019-20 season; however, these four have already etched their names in video game history. Check out the four players below.

Los Angles Rams Right End Aaron Donald was the first man announced. Donald was also in the 99 Club in Madden 19, so his rating is not a surprise. He boasts the best strength, power moves, and pursuit in Madden 20, while also bringing top-of-the-line block shedding and finesse moves. Add in his X-Factor abilities and you have a guy who will live in opponent’s backfields.

Seattle Seahawks Middle Linebacker Bobby Wagner is next up. He lays claim to the best tackle and hit power ratings in the game while tying Donald for best pursuit. Wagner’s X-Factor ability will make him a defensive nightmare, as his ability to cover receivers goes through the roof.

Khalil Mack of the Chicago Bears is the third inductee to the 99 Club. As a long-suffering Minnesota Viking fan, this isn’t a surprising addition. Mack is a destructive force all over the field and really helped turned the franchise around in 2018.

DeAndre Hopkins of the Houston Texans is the only offensive player to cop a 99 overall rating. He lays claim to the best catching, jumping, spectacular catch, catch in traffic, and release in Madden 20. In short, Nuk is going to catch everything you throw at him and then some.

Of course, just because other players aren’t rated 99 doesn’t mean they can’t dominate the game. Old-school Madden fans will fondly remember Madden 2004 when Michael Vick was the cover athlete and only rated 95. That did not stop his inhuman speed from carving up defenses across the NFL and being banned from every in-house competition between my brother and me. So, Kansas City Chiefs fans can all rest easy in knowing that cover boy Patrick Mahomes is probably still going to slice up any secondary you put in front of him.

Madden 20 is out on August 2 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
