Madden NFL 21 is set to get a new reveal trailer next Monday. Curiously, it's dropping ten days ahead of the EA Play event happening on June 11. That said, it makes sense to drum up some hype early and then go for a deep dive at EA Play. In 2019, they started dropping details at the NFL Draft, so it looks like they're following a similar path this year. Except this time replace the Draft with an incredibly short sneak peek at May's Inside Xbox.

Usually, an announcement of an announcement wouldn't seem too appealing for me. However, this is a next-gen console year. In many ways, these are the most interesting years for sports games because so much is often pushed to the sidelines in favor of making the games look great on a new platform. Which modes will we see dropped this go-around? Will EA even bother to include something like  Face of the Franchise in Madden 21? You have to assume X-Factor abilities will stick around, but it will be interesting to see what they drop.

Of course, I hope I'm completely wrong and Madden 21 is fully-featured on both current and next-gen consoles. I'm not holding my breathe for that to happen, but I'm hopeful. The one thing I can guarantee is that we're going to see a ton of Madden Ultimate Team in the coming weeks.

Madden 21 launches this August for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Presumably, the game will then come to PS5 and Xbox Series X once those consoles launch. Make sure to check back early next week as DualShockers will have all the latest from that reveal trailer. Here's hoping the team can impress as we head toward EA Play.
