In a heated and intense game, Super Bowl LI had viewers on the edge of their seats as the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons faced off, with the annual Super Bowl prediction from Madden NFL 17 once again coming true.

Following last week's prediction from Madden NFL 17 - an annual tradition each year before the Big Game - the outcome from this weekend appeared to be true, as the game's simulation of the game ended up accurately predicting that the New England Patriots would win Super Bowl LI.

The final score of the real game ended up being  34-28 for the Patriots, with the Madden prediction coming up a bit short of predicting the score at 27-24. However, the Madden simulation did predict that the Patriots would come from behind to claim the win, which did end up happening in the actual game as the Falcons lead the majority of the game before a last minute turnaround by the Patriots.

The Madden Super Bowl simulation has become an annual tradition from EA with the game each year simulating and predicting the outcome of the Big Game, with the simulations showing some surprisingly accurate results. This was definitely the case in 2015, when the simulation correctly guessed the game's final score and also predicted that the Patriots would come back from a 10-point deficit in the 3rd quarter.

Madden NFL 17 is available now for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360.
