As they do every year, the team at Electronic Arts has looked to its annual football sim, Madden NFL 20, to help predict who the winner of this Sunday's Super Bowl will be. If the results are accurate whatsoever, then we could be in for a close game.

According to the simulation, Madden NFL 20 expects the Kansas City Chiefs to top the San Francisco 49ers by a final score of 35-31 in Super Bowl LIV. It also claims that Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who is the cover athlete for Madden 20 and was last year's MVP of the league, to end up winning the Super Bowl MVP. If this does end up happening, it would seem that the Madden cover curse definitely wouldn't have been a factor this season.

It is worth noting that just because Madden NFL 20 has predicted the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl doesn't mean it's what will end up occurring whatsoever. Last year, Madden NFL 19 said that the Los Angeles Rams would end up beating the New England Patriots by a final score of 30-27. Instead, the Patriots ended up handily beating the Rams in a low scoring game of 13-3.

Still, this year's Super Bowl should hopefully be much more exciting. Both the Chiefs and 49ers have far and away been two of the best teams in the league this year. The 49ers have been dominant through the strength of their defense while the Chiefs have continued to blow opponents away through the power of their offense. It should be a fun, classic Super Bowl matchup that will pit a high-scoring offense against a stifling defense. It remains to be seen which will come out on top, but personally, I'm leaning towards Mahomes and the Chiefs.

In other Madden news, EA also recently announced that this past year's edition of the game is the best-selling in the history of the franchise. This isn't too huge of a shock given that we're at the tail end of this console generation and install rates across all platforms are incredibly high. That said, EA has to be pleased with how well the series continues to do each year.

Madden NFL 20 is out now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. As for Super Bowl LIV itself, the game is set to take place on Sunday, February 2, with kick off starting at approximately 6:30 pm EST.
