More on Madoka Magica

Meanwhile, you have the spinoff game Magia Record still ongoing on mobile in Japan. The game was first launched in Japan in August 2017. It was later released in USA on June 25, 2019 but ended up unceremoniously closing on September 28, 2020. This most notably triggered angry responses from fans who spent money to buy gems in-game, as the shut down announcement was made right after a big event.

The game is still pretty popular in Japan. A season 2 for its anime adaptation is coming soon.

In other news, Chiyomaru Shikura, the author of Steins;Gate, recently mentioned he’d like to make a Madoka Magica game one day. Additional details on the English release of the new Madoka Magica movie will be coming on the series' official USA Twitter, which is active again after four years. We'll see how this all turns out. In any case, you can always reach me on Twitter @A_iyane07 to discuss MadoMagi.
