The new trailer from Mafia: Definitive Edition is a mixture of cutscenes and gameplay footage to show you how it's like to live like a gangster.

For a veteran fan of the game who has already played the original Mafia, it's obviously great to see all the cutscenes have been directed in the same way as the original game in Mafia: Definitive Edition. The level of Hanger 13's loyalty to their source of inspiration is admirable, however, there are some new additional mechanics, cut-scenes, and gameplay elements as well, to make it a nearly perfect experience.

Playing as Tommy Angelo, an ordinary Taxi driver in the city of Lost Heaven, you will get to know Don Salieri and his mobster crew accidentally at the dead of a disturbing night. After helping Salieri's men to run away from a rival gangster's vengeance, Tommy receives a considerable amount of money from Don, tempting him to join to Salieri's mobster family.

Story-wise, Mafia: Definitive Edition will have no changes when compared to the original game. That being said, the developers have used new voice actors for the main characters since the original ones are either not available or not involved in the video game industry anymore.

Launching later this month, Mafia: Definitive Edition is supposed to be a love letter to the fans of the original Mafia game, recreating the memories of the good old days with late 8th-gen visuals. Hanger 13, might not be a successful studio over the last few years, but the remake of the original Mafia could be their last chance to prove their talent and passion in delivering open-world story-driven games.

Mafia: Definitive Edition is set to be released on September 25th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The game will cost you $39.99, but if you would like to get all of the Mafia entries, purchasing Mafia: Trilogy for $59.99 would be a better choice for you.
