Major League Gaming Sets Another Record

According to their official press release, Major League Gaming’s Spring Championship last week had a record smashing 4.7 million unique online viewers, and with over 20,000 spectators in the audience at Anaheim, it blew away the league’s own records, as well as those for any gaming competition held in North America.

While the competition may be small by global standards, especially South Korea, it does show that Major League Gaming is catching on in the US. It’s still small when you consider that the average NFL Football game in the US draws in close to 20 million viewers, but at the rate it’s growing, MLG could be mainstream in a decade or so.
