Wave 2 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass is set to arrive next week, with eight brand new tracks for players to jump into.

The news was confirmed by Nintendo earlier today with a brand new YouTube video giving fans a sneak peek at all of the new courses set to arrive in Wave 2, which is set to arrive on August 4th. Mario Kart 8's first wave came back in March and included the likes of Choco Mountain from Mario Kart 64, Shroom Ridge from Mario Kart 7, Tokyo Blur from Mario Kart Tour, and many more.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe players will once again find two new cups to jump into, with a total of four tracks for each cup arriving in Wave 2. All of the included courses can be found below:

Turnip Cup

  • New York Minute (Tour)
  • Mario Circuit 3 (SNES)
  • Kalimari Desert (N64)
  • Waluigi Pinball (DS)

Propellor Cup

  • Sydney Spring (Tour)
  • Snow Land (GBA)
  • Mushroom Gorge (Wii)
  • Sky-High Sundae (NEW)

Unfortunately, these new tracks are only available as part of the special Booster Course Pass for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The pass is included at no extra charge for those who own the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership, but if you're not a subscriber, you'll need to purchase the Booster Course Pass for $24.99 USD.

Nintendo confirmed a total of 48 courses to be included in the pass, all of which will be rolled out gradually over the course of 6 "waves". Each wave will include 8 classic tracks from previous Mario Kart entries. The final wave is expected to arrive sometime towards the end of 2023.

Although there are still 4 more waves left to go, Nintendo hasn't revealed what other courses fans can expect in the future. Should they follow a similar release pattern, Wave 3 will likely arrive towards the end of this year, likely around November time; but this is yet to be confirmed by Nintendo themselves.

In other Nintendo news, the creator of Bayonetta confirmed that Nintendo weren't the ones responsible for the "censored" option available in the upcoming Bayonetta 3. As for the world of Pokemon, the theme of the upcoming Scarlet & Violet game received a stunning orchestral performance, topped off by some adorable plushies!
