Last night, the Mario Kart Tour Twitter account was activated as Nintendo finally announced the game's release date. Today, the team has started to roll out content for the pre-release cycle with two videos showing off a few gameplay snippets. Check out the first one below.

Uploading the trailer as a vertical video is certainly a choice. I know Nintendo is trying to show what the game will look like in motion, but it's not the best way to get a good look at the gameplay. In the first trailer, we see a bunch of stages and drivers that Mario fans will recognize. It looks like pretty typical Mario Kart just with an odd screen resolution that makes everything feel a bit more chaotic than usual. Certain turns seem to come out of nowhere with the squished screen. It's not a complete deal-breaker, but it's definitely noticeable.

The second trailer shows the game being played by people all over the world. This gives us a decent look at how you'll actually control the kart. Obviously, it's going to be a much simpler version of console Mario Kart, but I like how they've found ways to use the touch screen. We see a player wiping off the screen after they slimed by a Blooper. It seems like they could easily add more interactable items that would work well on a phone.

We don't have to wait much longer to ger our fingers on the game. Mario Kart Tour comes to Android and iPhone on September 25.
